Freddie Graves founded The Recovery Room in 1989 in the basement of her home with three young daughters underfoot. Freddie learned her craft at the University of Vermont and then refined her skill and technique on the furniture of unsuspecting, but hopeful friends and family. Her business grew to include custom window treatments, slipcovers, bedding and Hunter Douglas shades and blinds.
In 1995, The Recovery Room moved to a new studio space in a renovated 1860’s barn in North Fayston, Vermont. With a custom workroom and studio design space, Freddie and her team work with homeowners and interior designers. We are forever expanding our education to offer more complex and challenging treatments and designs for the homes of today, while maintaining our commitment to the craftsmanship of yesteryear.
We value the importance of making each home a haven with color, fabrics and personal comfort.
